Apostolic Workers

Posted on 06. Aug, 2010 in Parish Groups and Organisations

A branch of Armagh Apostolic Workers was re-established in Cookstown in 1997 by Monsignor Murray. The ladies meet in S.V.P centre on Tuesday mornings at 10.30am where they continue the tradition of knitting, sewing, making vestments and praying for the Missions. A coffee morning is held each November and an annual Church collection is taken up. This money goes to diverse projects e.g. famine relief, school books, medicines and help for Aids and Leprosy victims in countries from India, Nigeria, Uganda to Kenya and Brazil.
