Lourdes Pilgrimage

Posted on 06. Aug, 2010 in Parish Groups and Organisations

The Annual Cookstown Lourdes pilgrimage runs from 11th to 16th July. The hotel used is normally about a 5-minute walk from the Grotto. The pilgrimage involves daily Mass with opportunities to attend the Blessing of the Sick and the Candlelight procession daily.

We pray the Stations of the Cross with a choice between the high and low stations.

Confessions are available daily in the Chapel of reconciliation. There is also ample free time for you to pray in the peace and quiet of the Grotto.

During the pilgrimage, we pay a visit to Bartres, a village where St. Bernadette’s foster mother is buried. Mass is celebrated in the local church during which we have the Blessing of the Sick for the parish group.

Bookings are taken from January each year; a deposit of £50 secures a place. Contact any of the committee members for further details.
